Content Rules
GTOY celebrates skateboarding. To keep the competition open, fair, and safe — especially for younger skaters — all entries must follow these rules.
What's Not Allowed
- Tricks or stunts that put the skateboarder or bystanders at serious, unnecessary risk of injury
- Anything offensive, discriminatory, or hurtful to any individual or community
- Harassment, hate speech, or content targeting any person or group
- Content that promotes illegal activity
- Participants under 16 to send us the video on link Instagram DM and it will be uploaded on @sphereskateboards and @weskateco
- Entries from private accounts - your post must be publicly viewable
On dangerous tricks: we're not judging how scary your trick looks — we're judging how technically good it is. Entries that appear to put the skater or others in reckless, avoidable danger will be disqualified. Skate responsibly.
Note: Sphere Skateboards and We Skate Co. reserve the right to disqualify any entry that violates these guidelines without prior notice.
Judging Criteria
All entries are reviewed by our panel of judges and head judge Jordan Thackeray (@jthaxx_hys). The panel will help filter entries and Jordan will make the final calls. The judging criteria and their weightage are below:
1) Degree of Difficulty and/or Originality (50%)
Judges look at how technically hard the trick is to perform and whether it is a "Never Been Done" (NBD) or a creative variation.
2) Performance & Style (25%)
This covers the execution of the trick, including the skater's speed, pop, height, and how cleanly they land.
3) Spot & obstacle choice (25%)
The size, height, and general "gnarliness" of the location where the trick is performed significantly impact the score.
Judges actively review submissions throughout the entry window, not just at the end.
